The Global Alliance for Education is an non-profit membership organization founded by the reputed dedicator and entrepreneur in Australia and China’s international education industry - Mr. John Du. Our mission is to contribute international education prosperity by creating connection and collaboration between the Chinese Education Industry and the Australia International Education Industry, to create synergy beneficial for all its members, to strengthen its members’ ability to compete in the hypo - competitive international education market.

Our mission is to assist education providers, government bodies and relevant education bodies to contribute to educational prosperity in Australia and China, by promoting global education.

Our goal is to develop GAE to become the active international platform where the Chinese Education Industry and the Australia International Education Industry can connect and collaborate on various types of educational projects, to facilitate the quality development of China and Australia’s education industry.

Mr. John Du is the reputed dedicator and entrepreneur in Australia’s International education industry. Since the first establishment of his own education consultancy boutique (AAEMC) in early 1989, Mr. John Du visualized the future of international education industry, and has been consistently promoting international education in Australia for 19 years. Dream Overseas (with original trading name AAEMC) has developed to become one of the largest international student agencies in Australia. Mr. John Du’s vision does not only limit itself only to Australia, he has also applied the global strategy into his business and has become one of the earliest entrepreneurs who have started developing international education consultancy business overseas. To this day, Dream Overseas brand has been recognized across cities in three different countries, employing more than 100 staff.

In 1999, Mr. John Du took business development to the next level. He ventured into the international education industry by acquiring Magill College, establishing Layas Institute in both Melbourne and Sydney which all together formed the Layas Education Group. Layas Education Group has currently set up infrastructure of three college campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Gosford providing Language Training Programs and Vocational Education Training courses. Another business sector - Layas Education Group Management (China) has been set up in China to support future development of the group.

In addition, Mr. John Du has also contributed generously to various multicultural projects. He and his team have also developed Dream Overseas International Student Club, which aims to encourage international students to become involved with Australia local culture and to enrich their study experience in Australia. In 2007, Dream Overseas and his team participated in FINA 2007 by organizing more than 3000 international students cheering squad participants for the world event. Mr. John Du and his team were rewarded for the excellent contribution prize from Mr. ShuGen Liang, the Consul General of P.R.China in Melbourne for the team’s great support and contribution. His distinctive contribution to the international education and migration consulting industry in the last decades has been recognized and awarded with numerous awards such as the ‘2004 Victoria State Chinese Elite Awards’. In 2008, John Du’s story was published in Spirit of China and he was rewarded as ‘Outstanding Overseas Chinese’ for promoting Chinese culture outside of China.

Following his recent nomination, Mr John Du won the Initiative Awards of the Ethnic Business Awards 2008. His victory was especially pleasing given that Mr John Du is the first Chinese-born migrant to win this prestigious award in Australia. Mr John Du is also the first winner from the Education Industry in the country.
